The Nakovalnya Contemporary Art Gallery was founded by producers Ilya Ovcharenko and Daria Volkova with the support of blogger Valentin Petukhov (Wylsacom) as a one-year pop-up project. Initially, the Nakovalnya was conceived as a dynamic space designed to increase the awareness of contemporary young artists, support the development of contemporary art, raise the cultural level of the city and create an environment where initiatives of commercial brands can seamlessly combine with cultural projects.

Due to the high popularity, the active interest of the audience and the successful integration of the gallery into the cultural life of the city, the project was continued. In the second year, the Nakovalnya was extended with the support of patrons Natalia Basmanova and Boris Guttsov, which allowed the gallery to strengthen its position in the art community and continue working on the development and promotion of a new generation of artists.
